Today is Maraya's 12th birthday. We spent the afternoon in Olympia celebrating with the entire family. Everyone but Maraya knew she was getting a very special gift for her birthday. Tickets to Fall Out Boy. It was apparently the only thing on her wish list. Not only did she need tickets but also an adult chaperon to the show, and a ride to Seattle. Grandma Ellie came through and Maraya's reaction was priceless. Inside a huge box, filled with tissue paper, was an envelope with three tickets. One for Maraya, a friend and one lucky adult. When she realized that the gift was not an All-In-One printer, as stated on the box, her reaction was a high pitched scream followed by tears, and the words "this is the only thing I wanted". Let me tell you it brought tears to my eyes, how happy this kid was. The words perfect gift does not do this justice.Hilary and I were discussing how fast time flies, and I was thinking about when I met Maraya. She was only about 3 years old, and now she is this beautiful young lady. I really don't know where the time has gone. I do know that I am blessed to be a part of this family, and to have been able to watch this amazing girl grow up right before my eyes.

That is just awesome! Reminds me of being young, and how we used to be so excited to go see our favorite bands play, it was such a big deal back then. RHCP!!!
