Ladies Man

We are lucky to find ourselves in a time when a lot of our friends are having kids at the same time. For a while there, it seemed as if everyone was having girls. In fact I can think of 7 babies right off the top of my head, all born in the last 2 years, all girls. I was starting to wonder if Atticus would have any boys to play with. Thanks to Cody Miller and yet to be named Baby Z (to arrive in less than 2 weeks) there will be boys. Until theses guys can catch up to Atticus, it will be all about the ladies. Recently he got to spend some time with one of he favorite girls (shhh, don't tell McKenzie). Our friends Paco and Melissa brought over their daughter Jessica. Jessica will be 1 next week, and is super cute. She has been visiting us since before Atticus was born, but this was the first time they have been old enough to really interact and play. I wasn't sure how it would go, since the last baby he played with kept getting his toys snatched away. We haven't worked much on sharing. So, we plopped these two down together with a pile of toys and waited to see what happened. At one point Atticus got a little too close to Jessica for he liking and she started to cry. Atticus's response was to sit back and cry himself. There they were, the two of them, both in tears, and Melissa and I in tears as well. The only difference is that ours were tears of laughter. I guess we should have been comforting them, but our first reactions were "get a camera". Atticus is not much of a crier (unless you stand in the way of his food), so it was funny to see him get so upset, just because Jessica was crying. I wonder if he really felt bad for her, or maybe he was just worried she was about to get more attention, so he had to step up his game. I like to think he just feels other peoples pain deeply, but something tells me I am wrong. (Sarah, here is proof that he does cry.

Ok, now I know that he's a real baby. He cries and eats things like boots, I think babies eating things they aren't suppose to is a way to boost their immune system. Good ole dirt.
