Recently we introduced Atticus to solid foods. Now, here is the funny thing. Baby food that comes in a jar is considered solid foods, yet it is clearly not
solid. I think solid food consists of anything that is not milk (formula/breast milk). I would like to know the mystery to these foods. Why do they smell and taste so awful. For example I like the way carrots taste and the way they smell is just fine with me. But put turned into mush with water and jarred and suddenly it smells and tastes like something I would never eat. I have tasted everything I have given to Atticus, just to make sure it doesn't taste contaminated. Seriously this stuff is gross. It's our goal to make his baby food, but since he is just starting and is isn't eating a lot we have been buying the organic store bought foods. He has taken to these foods really well. So far he has had carrots, green beans, peas, summer squash, sweet potatoes, and today pears. He is not a fan of the peas. I can't blame him. A summer of working at Twin City Foods in the quality control department pinching peas ruined peas for me forever. Everything else has been a winner. Here are a few pictures from his dinning experience. They feature carrots his first veggie, and pears his first fruit. Next thing you know he will be asking for steak and lobster.

Check out the two baby teeth
All the better to bite you with my dear.

Baby 'food' is nasty but they seem to like it. Guess they don't know any better. Let me know how the sleeping goes now that's he on solids!
Even covered in carrots, I still want to give him mad smooches. The kid is going to be a heart breaker. Love that you can see his two toofs when he smiles!
seriously adorable.
