Sweet Grammy Hatley

Most of you already know, that last week my Grandma Hatley died. While I am sad about this loss to our family, and the void it has created I am thankful for a lot. I am choosing at this time for focus on the things I am thankful for.

I am thankful for the fact that she was a healthy woman for almost 100 years. Think about that for a minute. That is a seriously long time. She was less than a month short of turning 97. During this time she never had to live anywhere other than her home. A home that she's lived in for 40 something years.

I feel so fortunate that she was able to really get to know her two great grandsons. Blake 7 and Atticus 3.
She was extremely talented. She could sew ANYTHING. She made wedding dresses (including mine), high school choir dresses, Halloween costumes, you name it, she could make it. The sewing room in her house was always full of projects she was working on for people in town.

Aside from sewing, she loved traveling and playing cards. She's been everywhere. Traveling mostly with various travel groups. She always amazed me with her energy. In her 80's she could run circles around most people in their 60's.
She spend a lot of time volunteering, and a lot of time at the local senior center. It was almost like a 2nd home to her. It's strange to think that she was a senior citizen for about the length of time I've been alive. She loved to play bridge and gamble at the local casino's.

I could go on and on about the things she loved, and the things we loved about her. There was a lot to love.

We will all miss her presence, but are so very luck to have had the time with her that we did.

Love you, grammy.

So sorry for your loss Gina - we can only hope to grow old as gracefully and as full of life as your Grammy Hatley. What an amazing lady and an amazing life.
