Parties and Parades

Saturday was a busy day for the Landerholm's. Atticus and I woke up bright and early and headed into Bothell for McKenzie's 3rd Birthday party, which was held at a farm. While we were getting ready I kept telling Atticus that we were going to sing Happy Birthday to McKenzie. Atticus's response was "Happy Cake, Happy Cake". He was definitely not disappointed when the cake came. The farm was great and the people who run it were so nice. There were chickens, pigs, and ponies. Most of the kids rode the ponies, but Atticus didn't want to wear the mandatory riding helmet, so he just watched. It was a perfect place to have a kids party. Plenty of space to run and get dirty.

Checking out the chickens with McKenzie and friends.

Pigs say "OINK"

McKenzie in two years "Mommy, I want a Pony!"
How many kids can fit on a tractor?

After a much needed nap we headed to Marysville for the Annual Strawberry Festival. I haven't been to the parade in years, but I used to go every year as a kid. I love seeing the whole community come together and enjoying some free family time. Since Carol is super involved my dad got to park right next to the grandstand and we didn't have to fight for a good spot. We actually had grandstand tickets, but there was no way Atticus was going to sit still for this party. His favorite parts were the Drill Teams, and he kept trying to dance along with them. He also really loved the fireworks at the end. Makes me look forward the the 4th. Can't wait for next the parade next year!
