Gobble Gobble

Well, Atticus just celebrated his first Thanksgiving. Confused? Are you doing the math and realizing that he is 18 months old, and that makes no sense. Well, last year Demian came down with the flu at Thanksgiving, and Atticus had the sniffles too, so we stayed home. So technically this was his first REAL Thanksgiving. We spent in with family up in Marysville. It was Atti's dream come true, all the football and "bites" (getting a bit of what someone else is eating) he could handle. It was a pretty traditional Van Zant Thanksgiving, lots of people, more food than we could ever eat, lots of cocktails, and ending the night with a friendly game of "99".
Ninety nine is a card game played with a large group of people and it's been played at many a family functions. Demian and I skipped out on the game in favor of chasing Atticus around and making sure he didn't destroy any of Tutu's decorations. It was a great night! Aside from enjoying all the yummy food, I did take time to think about all the things I am thankful for. My life is blessed in so many ways that a list of all the things I am thankful for would go on for miles. At this risk of being cliche family, friends, and health top that list. I know it is what everyone says, but really what could be more important than that?
