We knew all the dogs would tolerate a baby in the house, but before Atticus was here, we had our predictions as to who would put up with him the most, and who would have less than thrilled with a new little person. Based on how great of friends Taj was with Brooklyn (Marybeth's Boston Terrier), we figured Taj would be the most receptive to a baby. Brooklyn possesses some of the same annoying habits as an infant (Sorry MB).
We planned on there being some jealousy with Otis, since he is "officially" the baby and the first, and don't you forget it. Although Otis pretty much despises Brooklyn, he would let a young Maraya crawl all over him with out ever seeming to tire of it. He's always been really tolerant of kids.
Marley has always been the most standoff-ish of all the dogs. He had a rough start to life, and it took him months to warm up to us, and years to show affection to anyone coming to the house. Keeping this in mind, we figured he would be the least likely to want a baby crawling all over him, using him as a stepping stool, chewing his dog tags, etc. We were wrong. Recently Atticus has been following Marley all over, always hanging on him, using him as a crutch to walk with, snuggling up with him. Marley just seems to take it, where the other dogs hang in there for a few minutes and then flee.
The other night Atticus crawled up on the couch (his new skill) and Marley climbed up right next to him. Next thing I knew, Marley laid his head across Atti's leg. It was the cutest thing ever. I guess the LOVE must be mutual.

Love it!! We had predictions on who would be the better friend to McKenzie. We both though JonesZ but it's Indy who at least puts up with her more... probably cause Indy's just trying to get on my good side. McKenzie likes JonesZ more though and chases the poor guy around all the time.
I love this post! And the pics. It took awhile for Marley to tolerate me, especially with my "da-what, da-whats".....
that is too cute!!
The picture is almost like Marley is protecting his new meal to be. Either that or he's protecting the hand that feeds...Milky totally smuggles the dogs the goods!
