Night on the water

February 25th marked our 6th anniversary. Man how time flies. Six years earlier we were sipping cocktails in Hawaii, working on our tans. The day before our anniversary here in Seattle, it snowed. Boy, do I miss Maui. But, to celebrate we spend a night in Seattle. As I said last year, we sometimes under appreciate our beautiful city. It is not that we don't love it, it is just that we don't take the time to enjoy it enough. I mean it's only a 30 minute drive (not during rush hour) and we're downtown. Every time we do make it, we say, "we should really come downtown more often."

Our anniversary was a great excuse to stay down by the water and enjoy Seattle. We got a sweet deal on a night at the Edgewater Hotel, and had our meal already planned out at SeaTown. We have become major food nerds in the last few year. Now, that doesn't mean I won't eat processed cheese out of a can like it's my job. It means we are up on a lot of the new restaurants in the area, well known chefs, and learning more about foods you can't pronounce. Tom Douglas is a restaurant rock star here in Seattle, and thanks to my awesome cousin Nicole who gave us a gift certificate, we went to one of his many restaurants while in Seattle. It's called SeaTown and it was walking distance from our hotel. I can't begin to tell you how amazing the food was. I am still dreaming about the creamy oyster stew with foie gras butter (don't judge me about the foie gras, please). Top 5 most amazing foods I've eaten at a restaurant. Needless to say we were in heaven.
We also had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel restaurant Six-Seven.  Demian had a crab cake benedict and I think I saw him lick the plate.
More importantly we had a great time together. I don't know how I got so lucky to find someone to spend the rest of my life with, that truly gets me. But, I am thankful everyday. Thanks to Grandma for spending the night with Atticus so that we could have a night out on the town.

The Edgewater in on stilts and actually IN the water. This is from our balcony

This is the view from the East.

Yum. My new goal is to try ALL the Tom Douglas restaurants

I still love the market.

Six amazing years!
