It really does seem like we celebrate all year long. We went to Marysville for our annual Cookie-fest. I was so busy with cookies I failed to take any photos. Some new cookies in my lineup were; eggnog snickerdoodles, and pistachio cranberry cookies. Both cookies were yummy.
Atticus and I "make Christmas" all over the house, decorating like crazy. He was really getting into the spirit. He even wanted to make sure he had a Christmas shirt to wear.
The one thing that didn't really work out was our visit to Santa. Fail. At the last minute Atticus decided he was too shy to talk to Santa or sit on his lap. I didn't want to force him, so we sat and talked about it, and ended up going home with out a Santa picture. He was at peace with it, me not so much. I have photos from the other years, and I wanted to keep the tradition alive as long as possible. Oh well, maybe next year.
We basically had 3 different celebrations, the Landerholm family came the Saturday before, Bakkers, Van Zants, Jess, and Ty came Christmas Eve, and then Christmas morning in Marysville with the Hatley's.
When all the dust settles, the food is eaten, the gifts are open , the fire is dying down, I sit in front of the lit up tree and take a deep breath. For me, it's the most peaceful time. And I always think of how lucky I am.
